About the Author

Now I can write in the first person!  My name is Jim Crispin.  A former public school teacher, I work in the Information Technology department of CNA Insurance, a property-casualty insurance company headquartered in Chicago.

Crispin family photo December 2006In my spare time I am CEO, janitor, and chief bottle-washer of Trousers.  Originally I wrote a DOS version of this  software for missionary friends at Caribbean Graduate School of Theology / Jamaica Theological Seminary of Kingston, Jamaica.  While doing that I came to wonder if other schools could use this software.  One thing led to another, and today my desk, PC, printer, and cable modem collectively make up Trousers World Headquarters.

With a lot of fear, but with sincerity, I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of my life the summer of 1979.  I'll give you my testimony if you'd like.  I'm a very fortunate fellow in many ways. How many other people get the chance to serve the Lord and have so much fun at the same time?

In 1994 I married my wife Kim, a wonderful and lovely Christian woman.  Kim is not merely a loving and devoted spouse; she is very fun to hang around with.  I am a happily married man.  The little people in the photo are our kids, both adopted (names not stated here because a Google search could invite problems -- sorry -- trust you can understand).  Our son was born in eastern Europe in June 1998 and our daughter was born in the US in June 1999.  We love our kids to pieces are grateful to God for giving us such a wonderful family.  This picture is from Christmas 2006.

Kim and I are members of College Church of Wheaton, an evangelical, nondenominational congregation located across the street from Wheaton College.  We have roots, family, and friends in the area, so for us this looks to be home for good.  I do not think I could move.  I am a homebody.  It is even hard for me to change grocery stores.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, home maintenance, and active sports.   Because my knees are worse for wear from many years of pounding basketball pavement my active sports these days are  jogging and biking.  I suppose that soon I will settle for mall-walking and checkers.
